Lance Corporal Dale Means

Lance Corporal Dale W. Means, 23, of New Prague, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, while serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan.
Dale was born April 17, 1989 in Burnsville, MN, a son of John D. and DaleLyn (Larsen) Means. He attended Farmington Elementary School, New Prague High School and Dakota County, Technical College, before joining the Marine Corps. Dale married Andrea Scheffler on October 15, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Church of Cedar Lake. The couple made their home in Jacksonville, NC, near Camp Lejeune, where he was based.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Burnsville; his father ND; a sister JoLyn Means, Cannon Falls; parents-in-law John and Patricia Scheffler, New Prague, sisters-in-law Megan, Alicia and Amy Scheffler, New Prague; grandfather John W. Means, Savage; and grandparents John and Patricia Roy, Apple Valley.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Nancy Means.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 28, at 11 a.m., at the Church of St. Patrick, with Rev. James Adams and Rev, Orlando Tatel officiating.
Interment was at the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were cousins Joseph Larsen, and Thomas Larsen and friends Zeke Williams, Brian Tupy, Chris VonBank, Joshua Bass, Jason Haugen, Dusty Nytes, Buddy Reimer and Joe Marek.
Visitation was held from 4-8 pm Tuesday and 7:30 to 10 am Wednesday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
